The Power of Dua during Taraweeh Prayer

Before we dive into the step-by-step guide to performing Taraweeh prayer, let’s first understand the significance of the Dua of Taraweeh and the benefits of Taraweeh prayer during Ramadan.

Dua holds great power within itself. How merciful Allah is!

He gets pleased when you make dua, when you stand before Him, and when you tell Him your needs, your sorrow, your happiness, and your wishes.

Even the closest person gets irritated when we continuously ask for help, but the king of the world does not get offended on asking for help in the form of Dua. He loves listening to our desires.

Allah said in the Holy Quran: Surah Ghafir, verse 60:

And your Lord has said:

“Invoke Me and I will respond to you”.

And

When My servants ask you ˹O Prophet˺ About Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond ˹with obedience˺ to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided ˹to the Right Way˺.

 (Al-Quran: Surah Baqarah, verse 186)

The significance and power of dua have also been highlighted by our beloved prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in his life. Abu Hurairah narrated that:

The Prophet said:

“There is nothing more honorable with Allah [Most High] than supplication.”

 (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3370)

Narrated Salman Al-Faris: The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

Your Lord is munificent and generous, and is ashamed to turn away empty the hands of His servant when he raises them to Him.
