Learn Quran Reading With Tajweed Rules

When we are thinking about learning Quran Reading With Tajweed rules, the first question that comes to mind is why it is important to read the Holy Quran with Tajweed. Every language can be said to be spoken correctly only when it is following the way of the people of the language. Since the Holy Qur’an is in Arabic, it is necessary to read it according to the method of the Arabs.

If the letters are not recited according to their method, the Arabicness of the Qur’an will not remain or else the meaning will be created against the words of Allah Almighty. For example, when we don’t read the letter ‘qaaf’ with tajwid the meaning we get is:

“Qalb” means heart [when Qaaf is pronounced heavy], and “Kulb” means dog [when Qaaf is pronounced light]. One thing we should also know is that meaning is also corrupted by the distortion of letters. Allah Almighty says:

وَرَتِّلِ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَرْتِيلًا ٤

TRANSLATION: “And recite the Quran ˹properly˺ in a measured way.” [Reference: Al Muzammil: 3]

حَسِّنُو الْقُرْآنَ بِاَصْوَاتِکُمْ فَاِنَّ الصَّوْتَ الْحَسَنَ یَزِیْدُالْقُرْاٰنَ حُسْنًا

Al-Barā’ bin ‘Āzib told that he heard the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) say, “Beautify the Qur’ān with your voices, for the beautiful voice increases the beauty of the Qur’ān.” [Reference: ]Mishkat al-Masabih hadith#2208]

“‏ زَيِّنُوا الْقُرْآنَ بِأَصْوَاتِكُمْ ‏”‏

It was narrated that Abu Bara’ said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Make your voices beautiful when you recite Quran.'”

HOW TO READ QURAN WITH TAJWID (IN A MEASURED WAY)?

We should read Quran in a measured way. What is meant by ‘measured way’ is that every letter, vowel, and attribute should be recited with proper pronunciation, otherwise, the voice will not be pronounced clearly and it will be considered non-Arabic. Each letter should be pronounced with its attributes so that the sound of each letter is completely separate from the other.

Commentary on Tarteel According to the sayings of Hazrat Ali (R.A.): if one reads the letters with tajweed and knows the intervals, then the Holy Quran will be recited from Tarteel. For such recitation, good deeds and rewards will be bestowed by God.
